The first golden age of Bayern Munich, 1965-79 saw the Reds win multiple Bundesliga and DFB Pokals, plus an incredible three straight European Cups/Champions League titles. The season’s new home shirt is inspired by an iconic design worn during 1973-74.
That season and that team, located in the former West Germany, established Bayern as home to some of the best players and the best soccer in the world. Reigning champions Bayern Munich won the 1974 European Cup over Atletico Madrid. Six 1974 World Cup winners were part of that Bayern side, including legends Gerd Muller, Franz Beckenbauer, Sepp Maier and Uli Hoeness.
Der FCB also sported this design while winning the 1976 Intercontinental Cup, now known as the FIFA Club World Cup.
The red jersey has four bold white stripes on the front panel, with white cuffs and collar taken directly from the 1974 version. The adidas logo and team badge are embroidered. “Bayern Munchen” and “Mia San Mia” are heat pressed on the back.
